On 18 and 19 April, we’ll take you on a tour of the most beautiful spots around the Wellenseind Estate and the De Utrecht Estate during a special, leisurely walk of around 12 kilometres.
The day begins at Voor Anker in Lage Mierde. Here you’ll be welcomed and your culinary journey of discovery through the Kempen countryside will begin. You’ll soon leave the built-up areas behind and walk along sandy paths and through the vast woodlands that make this area so distinctive.
Along the way, you’ll be pleasantly surprised on several occasions. Not just by the views – such as from the historic fire tower in Esbeek, where you can look out over the countryside – but above all by what appears on your plate and in your glass.
One of the culinary stops is at De Buitenman. Here, we’ll take a moment to enjoy a dish prepared with care and love. Expect authentic local flavours and ingredients that are perfectly in tune with the season. Naturally, this is accompanied by a carefully selected wine from Wijn & Zo, making this moment feel like a little celebration in the heart of nature.
The route then takes you past an old vineyard, across the asparagus fields – the very symbol of spring in Brabant – and through a landscape whose character is constantly changing.
At the end of the day, you’ll return to Voor Anker, where one final treat awaits you: a delicious dessert to round off a day full of experiences, flavours and encounters.
